Kforce's client, a Long Island, NY based consumer products/retail company, is seeking a Manager of Accounting. This full-time, onsite role in Farmingdale, NY, involves overseeing the accounting operations of two corporate entities. Key responsibilities include managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting. The manager will also support audits, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and sales tax filings. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 7+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in financial systems like Sage 300 and advanced Excel.
Must Have
- Oversee accounting operations for two corporate entities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Support accounting functions including AP, AR, GL, financial reporting
- Support annual outside audits and reviews
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient with Sage 300 and advanced Excel skills

Kforce's client, a Long Island, NY based consumer products/retail company, is seeking Manager of Accounting. This position is in office 5 days a week. Summary: The Manager of Accounting will oversee the accounting operations of two corporate entities, which include monthly close, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, financial reporting, audits, and other projects. Duties Include:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Support accounting functions including collections, vendor bill management, account reconciliations, commissions, accruals and schedules, and other journal entries
- Support expense management including the accurate booking of accruals and prepaid; Support vendor payment process
- Review and monitor sales and inventory
- Prepare detailed analytics and all aspects of the business
- Work closely with the accounts receivable function, monitoring cash collections, deductions, and overdue amounts
- Support cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- Support annual outside audits and reviews with accounting firm, bank field examiners, and internal staff
- Support sales tax filings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA is a plus
- 7+ years of relevant experience (some retail/consumer product industry preferred)
- Proficient with financial and reporting systems including Sage 300
- Excellent analytical skills-advanced Excel skills
- Public and private experience is a plus
